In the new Kitchentalk, Eva Brenner meets the carpenter and craft influencer Isabelle Vivianne @die.tischlerin. Isabelle is an excellent craftswoman whose carpentry skills and creativity make her unique in the industry. With a great passion for woodworking, she has built up a portfolio over the years that includes both traditional and modern elements. As an expert in her field, she regularly inspires her followers on her social media channels - and increasingly inspires more and more women to take up carpentry. Enjoy a constructive exchange on creative craft topics!

To carpentry "from the gut feeling"

Isabelle comes from a family of craftsmen, her father and grandfather are master painters and instilled in her the support of craftsmanship at an early age. It was clear to her early on that she wanted to design furniture and work with wood. She followed her gut feeling and successfully completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter. Isabelle is committed to attracting more and more women to the carpentry trade, to positively impact the shortage of skilled workers. She tells Eva about her personal experiences during her apprenticeship and how she gradually asserted herself in a male-dominated environment.

Image change of craftsmanship professions

Eva and Isabelle look back at the Corona pandemic with material shortages and rapidly rising prices for building materials. This benefited the image of craftsmanship, as it became much more apparent how difficult it is to quickly find good craftsmen. Today, these professions are valued more highly than ever. Isabelle likes to use her social media channels, for example on Instagram and TikTok, to further enhance this image. She is in constant contact with her followers about technical content. But she also exchanges personal topics, such as how to choose the right and well-fitting work clothes on the construction site as a woman. She pursues her mission of inspiring people, especially women, to these professions with determination.

Currently a "temporary kitchen" at home

The subject of kitchens is not at all unfamiliar to Isabelle. In the carpentry workshop, she has often been involved in the construction of kitchen furniture, accompanied the entire process, and knows what it means when the corpus, front, and worktop come together to form a "big whole". For her own kitchen, she has currently created a creative but also sustainable temporary solution. She has recycled old kitchens and fitted the carcasses with new fronts in a rustic, oiled oak version. In 2-3 years, the planning of a completely new kitchen in a new interior design project is planned, which we are very excited about.

Brief and concise: kitchen design at a glance

In a quick overview, Isabelle gives brief and precise answers to Eva's specific questions about kitchen planning. With some questions, it is not easy for her to make a decision. See for yourself in which direction her new kitchen will go.
